About the exhibition:
This exhibition confronts the fragile yet unyielding pursuit of democracy in a world where truth often comes at an unbearable price. Created by two Ukrainian artists Olesia Miftahova and Kostiantyn Kozlov, who now are based in Wales and refuse to relinquish their commitment to telling Ukrainian stories, the installation invites audiences into an immersive space of memory, resistance, and solidarity.
Supported by Hong Kong artists (Shrimp and Bowie Tong) and other Hong Kong activists, "Cost of Truth" bridges geographies and struggles, weaving together narratives of Ukraine’s fight for sovereignty and Hong Kong’s battle for freedom. Through layered visuals, soundscapes, and tactile interventions, the work transforms personal testimonies into collective experience, asking: What does it mean to speak truth when silence feels safer? How do we carry the weight of histories that are still unfolding?
This is not an exhibition of distant conflicts; it is a living dialogue about resilience and responsibility. In the face of censorship, displacement, and violence, these artists insist on visibility—on making the unseen felt. Their collaboration becomes an act of defiance, a reminder that the fight for democracy is neither local nor temporary, but global and ongoing.
Step inside. Listen. Reflect. The cost of truth is high, but its absence is immeasurable.
You are sincerely invited to this space where art becomes testimony. Experience stories of resilience from Ukraine and Hong Kong.
