"Happy Valley" Hong Kong Communities Connected 10 -
Listen to Ghost Stories with Your Ears Covered

‘Happy Valley’ is a one-year long community art program at C&G Art Triangle, from Oct 2020 till Aug 2021. Totally 10 local artists are invited to exhibit and/or perform every month at the art space and in the neighborhood.

The last invited artist-unit for the tenth round is the artist duo: TO Yeuk and LAI Chun Ling. Their art projects, including a series of sharing activities and performance art pieces, will take place in a guerrilla fashion at Happy Valley:

Happy Valley is one of the earlier developed districts in Hong Kong. Besides luxury residential properties, it also has cemeteries with different religious backgrounds, and heritage buildings. With rich histories, Happy Valley contains many ghost stories and myths as well. As Lunar Calendar’s Ghost Festival coming up, we are going to collect ghost and mythical stories from residents here, and then re-present these stories with performance art. When fear becomes part of our daily life, how can we situate ourselves? The current project attempts to release our fear through art.

About collecting ghost/mythical stories:
1. contributors are welcome to share your stories with us at the following sessions;
2. or insert your stories in the mailbox of C&G Art Triangle.

After the exhibition, participants are welcome to take back their portrait drawings at C&G Art Triangle or Clara Cheung’s District Councilor Office (detail will be announced later).

An artist-dialogue with wen yau, TO Yeuk and LAI Chun Ling will take place during the exhibition, to discuss community art and Happy Valley. Due to the pandemic, there will be limited seats for the event, but the dialogue and sharing session will have live-broadcast. Free of charge. Please stay tuned at our website and Facebook page:

C&G Art Triangle

Established in 2019, C&G Art Triangle is an extension of C&G Artpartment. It is located in a small shop at Happy Valley, and attempts to explore different art forms for community engagement. With its bottom-up curatorial direction, Art Triangle hopes to address community and social issues with down-to-earth, humorous but critical approaches.
